Susan has been a Registered Nurse since 1983. She’s currently writing a mainstream women’s fictional novel inspired by true events, weaving credible medicine in a plot full of horrific turns. Her writing dives into the dark world of mental illness and overcoming disabilities. She draws off her own personal pain after experiencing the loss of her sister to suicide and her own near-death experience.
Her inner voice has awoken, inspiring her to blog, write poetry, and write a children’s book. Susan also writes guest articles for blogs.
Her nursing experiences range from a clinical settings to camp nursing for the disabled. Susan is an accomplished medical sales and marketing representative for patients with spinal cord injuries and diabetes. She has written numerous brochures, marketing plans, and training brochures.
She dabbled in politics working on campaigns. Susan served as a Member of the Board Trustees for a Fire Protection District.
Chicago born, Susan has followed her dreams, living from Florida to LA, even an island 20 degrees north of the equator on Maui. Her family ties brought her back to the Midwest where she writes from a log cabin in Wisconsin.
She’s enrolled in writing classes through University of of Wisconsin-Madison Continuing Studies. Susan is a member of the Wisconsin Writers Association, the “Write Now” writers’ group, and attends writers’ conferences.
Susan is inspired by gardening, nature photography-mainly butterflies, plays piano, and is passionate for music, especially classic rock.
Her writing journey began when she heard a famous female screenwriter say, “Everyone has a story in their head, just write it!”
She advocates for mental health, disabilities, and patient safety through her writing, and believes expression can be a gateway to healing and comfort.
